2017-2018 GOVERNOR

Dave Underhill is a media and marketing consultant in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Portsmouth (2013-2014) and the Rotary Club of Brattleboro, Vermont, in District 7870 (1989-1990).
Dave's broadcasting and publishing career began in Boston, and included stints at WGBH-TV Channel 2, WBZ-TV Channel 4, and WCVB-TV Channel 5.  Moving to Vermont, he and his wife, Linda Underhill, owned and operated radio station WKVT-AM/FM from 1983 to 1994.  Joining the Brattleboro Rotary club in 1984, he served on the board, as club secretary and in 1989-1990, as president, and as chair of the club’s Gateway Foundation.  In 1994, he was on a pilot team that traveled to El Salvador to explore starting clean-water projects.
His Rotary service was interrupted when his career took him to Tribune Company in Chicago as a senior executive in broadcasting, cable and internet publishing.  He and Linda returned to New England and settled in Portsmouth in 2006. Their son and daughter-in-law live nearby.
Dave has chaired Portsmouth Rotary’s finance, Interact and Foundation committees as well as the board of directors.  He is a member of Rotary’s Bequest Society and a Major Donor member of the Paul Harris Society.

In addition to his Rotary service, Dave serves as a volunteer small-business mentor for SCORE.

Dave was born in upstate New York, and is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, in New Hampshire, and Boston University, with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting and Film.  When he’s not in Rotary, you may find him on skis or on the golf course.
